More Than a Concert: Celebrating 18 Months of Diva Energy at Cliveden House

There are moments in life when you pause, look around, and realise something very special has quietly taken root.

This week we celebrated eighteen months of Diva Energy at Cliveden House and I find myself reflecting on how much has happened in such a short space of time  and how grateful I feel for everyone who has been part of this journey.

When I first imagined Diva Energy, I wanted to create something that went beyond singing lessons or performance opportunities.

I wanted to create a space where people could discover their voices, grow in confidence, challenge themselves and experience the joy of singing in a supportive and inspiring environment.

A place where people could give themselves permission to do something that was just for them.

Over the past eighteen months, I have watched that vision become a reality in ways that have exceeded my expectations.

After hearing so often and from so many people that they would love to sing - but have been told they can't - or that they have lost their confidence, I needed to make a change. I made it my mission to show people that singing WAS for them - whether they believed it at that time or not.

I wanted to celebrate the incredible achievements of the last 18 months somewhere special to me, somewhere grand that befitted the name of Diva Energy - and Cliveden was the most audacious place I could think of.

 More than a performance

Every Diva Energy concert is a celebration, but the performance itself is only part of the story.

What happens before someone steps onto the stage is where the real transformation begins.

Many of our singers begin their journey with excitement, but also with uncertainty.

Some have always dreamed of singing but never believed it was possible.

Some are returning to singing after many years away.

Some have spent their lives using their voices for their work, their families or other people and are now ready to discover what their own voice can do.

Watching that journey unfold is one of the greatest privileges of my work.

I have seen singers move from self-doubt to confidence, from hesitation to expression, and from wondering “can I really do this?” to standing proudly on stage and sharing their voice.

At Cliveden a singer with a truly special voice sang for us in public for the very first time ever - her performance had many of the audience in tears due to the sheer beauty and authenticity of her voice.

 The power of community

One of the most beautiful surprises of Diva Energy has been watching the community grow.

While singing is at the heart of everything we do, the friendships, encouragement and support that develop along the way are equally special.

There is something powerful about being surrounded by people who understand the courage it takes to begin something new, to be vulnerable and to be seen.

The singers don’t simply celebrate their own achievements  they celebrate each other.

That sense of connection is one of the things that makes Diva Energy so special.

A lifelong journey with the voice

As a professional singer, my own journey with the voice continues every day.

I continue to study, perform and learn because I believe that artistry is never something we finish developing. There is always more to discover.

That lifelong curiosity shapes the way I work with every singer I mentor.

I believe that every voice is unique.

The goal is never to create a copy of someone else, but to help each person discover their own authentic voice  with greater freedom, confidence and expression.

Looking back, looking forward

As I look back over these first eighteen months at Cliveden House, I don’t simply see concerts.

I see people discovering parts of themselves they may have forgotten.

I see courage.

I see creativity.

I see confidence growing.

I see voices becoming freer and more expressive.

Most of all, I see people giving themselves permission to be heard.

To every singer who has trusted me with their voice, thank you.

To every audience member who has supported and encouraged them, thank you.

To everyone who has become part of the Diva Energy community, thank you.

This journey has only just begun, and I cannot wait to see where the next chapter takes us.

A Thought to Leave You With

Every performance begins long before the first note is sung.

It begins with a decision.

A decision to be curious, to be courageous, to believe that your voice matters.

Sometimes the greatest transformation isn’t stepping onto the stage.

It is discovering that you belonged there all along.
