How to Find and Step into Your Own Personal Power

I believe we all have our own superpowers. Not like a Marvel Superhero but rather the things that make us unique and are essential to who we are.
Working as a singer for so many years, it was a revelation to me to discover this truly empowering work. Singers so often are compared with each other in auditions, performances, recordings and this can leave them feeling disheartened and wanting. However, it’s not just singers. I believe that everybody can find fortitude and release by doing this work.
Do you compare yourself to others? Maybe comparing how they look or sound or what they have and you do not and then feel miserable and useless.
I used to do it all the time and it kept me stuck. It gave me self-doubt and stopped me from even applying for opportunities that could have been great for me. Focussing on the negative meant that I could write myself off before I’d even started.
When I started my hypnotherapy journey, one of the most exciting exercises I learnt was the one where we unravel the thoughts that keep us stuck - such as “Who would want to listen to me?” Or “Who do you think you are, everyone’s going to laugh at you.” Instead we create a thought that is more empowering and notice how by thinking that and embedding it into hypnotherapy, it changes the way you feel.
This learning is key.
However, to stop comparing ourselves to others I find that exploring what makes you unique to be a real game-changer. To begin this we need to make a few lists:
- What skills do you have?
- What training do you have?
- What are the things that are important to you?
Also, often in a group session I would ask the other participants what “superpowers” they think the participant has and asking friends and family is a good place too. We start to see that what we have is a unique blend of skills, trainings, qualities, life-experience and values - and this is our superpower.
When we do this work we start to see a different picture of ourselves emerging and we can start to figure out how we can use this now in our work and lives.
If you would like to experience this for yourself I will be leading an online 2 hour workshop going through these and other favourite empowering exercises on November 7th. I will be joined by the wonderful strategist Leanne Lorains who will be leading a session to help you plot and put into place your learnings over the last few weeks of this year.
There are only 6 places available as we want to make this as interactive and hands on as possible and as this is the first time we are offering this workshop we will be introducing it at the special, never to be repeated, price of £39.
I can honestly tell you that this work changed my life and I would love to share it with you.
